Microsoft: Inclusion is Innovation Initiative
You can’t make a breakthrough without breaking something.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower the world through technology. To face today’s complex challenges, they first needed to address one of their own: a lack of diversity and inclusion in tech.
To reach a new generation of innovators, we helped Microsoft reinvent their approach to diversity, inclusion, and recruitment. Inclusion is Innovation launched in early 2023, with a cross-platform campaign featuring Microsoft employees from around the world, sharing their honest experiences and perspectives on inclusion, innovation, and technology.
The creative launch included a new messaging hierarchy and platform, a revamped website, social media video, and PR support. The campaign was then extended with social media pulses synced to Microsoft’s cultural calendar.
I found an artist from each employee’s affinity group (eg Black, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, AAPIH), then briefed them on the look, feel, and inspiration for each piece. After receiving the script, the artists came back with boards like these, which later became the finished video.
